Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing is working in conjunction with the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MIUR) to develop and deliver the International Medical Admissions Test (IMAT).
IMAT is a 100 minute subject-specific admissions test in English for applicants to medicine and surgery and dentistry courses. These courses are taught in English, with places open to both home and international students.

What is the "Foundation Year" Program?
The “Foundation Year” Program was conceived for international students who need to complete their basic education in order to pass an admission test in Italian state universities (in a range of disciplines, i.e. Medicine, Architecture, Science, Engineering
Candidates who meet the requirements indicated below are eligible to apply for the
Program
- Holding a secondary school certificate obtained abroad after 12 years of schooling;(plus 12, Intermediate, SSLC, CBSE etc.
- Possess minimum B2 English language level. For those who do not have the required
certification, it is possible to hold a Skype interview to assess their English level
The “Foundation Year” program is composed of a common part (Italian language and culture) and of one of the elective following fields of study: Humanities (Foundation Year in Humanities-FYH) or Sciences (Foundation Year in Science FYS). Classroom activities total 415/450 hours and attendance is mandatory for at least 75% of them. The final part of teaching activities includes three groups of classes on different typology of Italian university entrance tests.
NEET qualification is recommended. This is necessary if you wish to practice in India. However, if you wish to settle down in Italy and practice medicine there than it is not required.
